Copilot in OneDrive is a feature that enhances the way users interact with files stored in OneDrive. It’s part of the Microsoft 365 suite and is designed to help users quickly retrieve information from their documents, presentations, spreadsheets, and other files without having to open them.

With Copilot in OneDrive for Business on the web you can select multiple files and ask questions using natural language to complete tasks such as:

  1. Summarize a single file or multiple files recently shared with you.
  2. Generate insights by comparing multiple files.
  3. Create an FAQ based on one or more files.
  4. Ask questions about one or more files. Example: Running late for a meeting and want to check some sales numbers? Instead of opening the file, just ask Copilot!

To access and use Copilot in OneDrive

Step 1: Go to OneDrive in your web browser

Step 2: Select a file(s) and begin using Copilot in multiple ways

  1. Hover over a file — Select the Copilot Button.
  2. Right-click a file — Select Copilot tasks from the Copilot menu.
  3. Select a single file or multiple files — Select the Copilot button in the command bar.
