  1. BING CHAT ENTERPRISE DEFAULT-ON A3/A5 FACULTY : In August, Microsoft revealed that Bing Chat Enterprise, an AI-driven web chat with commercial data protection, was in Preview mode and was not activated by default for faculty users of customers with Microsoft 365 A3 and A5 licenses. This was available at no extra charge. Customers were given the option to activate this experience and were informed in advance that Bing Chat Enterprise would be enabled by default in late September unless they chose to opt out. As of September 25, Bing Chat Enterprise has been activated by default for faculty users of A3 and A5 customers who did not choose to opt out.

  3. MICROSOFT MESH ENTERS PUBLIC PREVIEW IN OCTOBER: Mesh enables your adaptable workforce to interact in a unique way within a 3D immersive environment, making virtual meetings and events feel more akin to in-person interactions. Whether you’re navigating immersive spaces in Microsoft Teams meetings or creating your own with Mesh, you can now unite individuals in a 3D digital environment that offers spatial interaction, co-presence, and immersion. This advisory provides an overview of the Mesh experiences that will be accessible in the public preview.
  4. MICROSOFT IGNITE 2023, NOVEMBER 15–17, 2023, PT: Microsoft anticipates a turnout of 3,500 attendees in person in Seattle and over 250,000 attendees digitally for Microsoft Ignite. The main content will be delivered on November 15 & 16, with “pre-day” labs scheduled for November 14 and an extra day of content exclusive to in-person attendees (“Day 3”, Nov 17). Please note that the in-person experience is now fully booked. This year’s target audience includes IT Pros/Administrators/Implementers, Developers, Decision Makers, and Data and Security Professionals who will come together to exchange ideas, share experiences, and delve into the latest technologies.   5. EXTENDED! MICROSOFT 365 E3 OFFER IN CSP: Microsoft is delighted to inform that the Microsoft 365 E3 Promotion in CSP has been extended until the end of FY24 (June 30, 2024). Although it was initially set to conclude on October 1, 2023, CSPs can now continue to take advantage of this offer to facilitate deals throughout FY24 for eligible customers who are new to the offer.
  6. INTRODUCING TOWN HALLS IN MICROSOFT TEAMS AND RETIRING MICROSOFT TEAMS LIVE EVENTS: Microsoft has announced the launch of a new feature called ‘Town hall,’ which is a novel virtual event experience set to replace Teams Live Events. This feature will be generally available for commercial customers starting October 5, 2023. Alongside this, Microsoft has also declared the phasing out of Teams Live Events. The platform will continue to be supported for commercial customers over the next 12 months and will be completely retired by September 30, 2024.
  7. MICROSOFT LOOP APP DEFAULT-ON FOR BS/BP/E3/E5: On August 18th, Microsoft sent a message center post (referenced as MC668811 post) to M365 Enterprise customers who have Business Standard/Business Premium/E3/E5 M365 seats in their tenant. The post detailed that the Loop app will be activated by default within their tenant at no extra charge. Since March 2023, customers have had the choice to opt into the Loop app during its public preview period. Starting from September 27th, 2023, the Loop app will be enabled by default for most of our Enterprise customers, excluding S2500, who have Business Standard/Business Premium/E3/E5 M365 seats in their tenant. This change will be gradually implemented over the following weeks.
